Our Experience

Advanced Child Behavior Solutions is one of the oldest behavior analytic service providers in Northern Nevada and has provided behavior analytic services to children in the region since 2006. Our mission is to make meaningful differences in the lives of children.  The company currently employs seven Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) who are also Licensed Behavior Analysts (LBAs) in the State of Nevada.  The collective experience of these senior clinicians exceeds 100 years of service working with children and families in their homes and schools.

Our staff have extensive training in the behavioral treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and while treatment of the symptoms of Autism are a large part of our work, we also see children who exhibit learning and behavior difficulties as symptoms of a variety of diagnoses, disabilities, genetic conditions, or other common childhood behavior and learning challenges. We have considerable experience working in and with schools, public or private, and can assist in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process. Our expertise in the complex process of health plan reimbursement for assessment and treatment, in addition to state assistance plans or other types of insurance, also helps families navigate the intricate and often confusing world of treatment funding.

Our Senior Clinicians

Our senior clinicians have received training and supervision from prestigious faculty and graduate training programs specializing in behavior analysis.  Well over 100 presentations have occurred collectively by our practitioners at professional conferences, and some of us have published research in flagship scientific journals, authored book chapters, taught and/or were guest lecturers in university classes, and/or have reviewed articles for scientific journals.  Additionally, our clinicians participate in building our behavior analytic community by volunteering their time to support our national certification organization, to guide our state’s past and present regulatory agencies, to serve as leaders on the board of the Nevada Association for Behavior Analysis, to provide free public presentations about behavior analysis to families in the region, and to influence public policy, funding, and consumer access issues in Nevada.  Our clinicians extend their passion beyond making a difference for children in the community by donating time and money to various nonprofit charity groups within the state as well.  We are committed to improving Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) service delivery and consultation in Nevada by acting with respect to our values of quality and compassion, by adhering to our professional ethical guidelines, and by inspiring others to make meaningful differences in the lives and families of children in our community.  Exemplary senior clinicians are only one part of our story, as our pride in our technician level staff is equally as important.

Our Technicians

We hire only the most compassionate, caring technicians to provide our ABA services. All of our technicians receive in-person, comprehensive training in the application of behavior analysis prior to working with children and are provided with frequent supervisory contacts and ongoing professional development.  We provide extensive on-site, face-to-face supervision and on-going training to each of our technicians, which far exceeds the basic training, supervision, and competency requirements set by our credentialing organizations. Our training process allows for well-prepared staff members to participate in the treatment of your child and allows us to better “fit” individual technicians’ strengths to your family dynamics and child.  Our technician level staff do not work independently with your child until they are able to pass rigorous competency standards.  All of our technicians hold credentials as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) and are registered with the State of Nevada Board of Applied Behavior Analysis. For our RBTs who are also university students, we support and track their progress at achieving larger professional and educational goals; upon finishing their bachelor’s degrees and following at least one year employment with ACBS, technicians are able attain jobs in the community that support their interests and passions. Many have even gone on to pursue graduate training and continue to make meaningful differences in children’s lives.

All Staff

All staff are Quality Behavioral Solutions (QBS) Safety-Care Certified, which is a behavior management program that safely and effectively maximizes child dignity and choice while maximizing staff safety. Additionally, all staff are Basic Life Skills (BLS) certified, which maximizes child safety in the event of a health emergency during a treatment session.

Our Interests

We love children and many of our staff have ones of their own.  We value relationships, whether it be with our own family, friends, and pets, or our community partners, teachers, and fellow service providers. We work just as hard to create a healthy work-home life balance that allows us to provide treatment from a place of our own well-being.  When we are not busy working with children, we find time to enjoy the beautiful Nevada outdoors by hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, camping, and backpacking.  Other staff hobbies include playing guitar, attending concerts, cooking, reading, and exploring local restaurants.
